Saskatchewan nursing continuing competence requirements
RN: In addition to CCP, RN practice-hour requirements apply: 450 hours in 2 years or 1,125 hours in 5 years, with alternative pathways for some applicants. (CRNS) LPN: CEP hours are divided between formal and informal learning activities, with minimum formal-activity requirements. (Salpn)
- Renewal period
- RN: Annual license renewal; current CRNS renewal period is October 1–November 30 for the upcoming registration year. (CRNS) LPN: Annual renewal; SALPN renewal is generally completed during the fall renewal period. (Salpn)
- RN requirement
- No fixed CE-hour requirement. RN must complete the annual Continuing Competence Program (CCP). (CRNS)
- RPN / LPN requirement
- 24 CEP hours every year for practicing LPNs. (Salpn)
- Mandatory topics
- RN: No fixed mandatory CE course. CCP requires at least one Practice Standard, one related learning goal, one completed learning activity and an evaluation. (CRNS) LPN: 24 CEP hours annually; at least 8 hours must be from Formal Activities, with remaining hours permitted through the applicable CEP categories. (Salpn)
- Required courses
