Prince Edward Island nursing continuing competence requirements
The former LPN regulator required an annual Continuing Competence Program (CCP) consisting of developing, implementing and reflectively evaluating a learning plan. The new PEICNM now regulates RNs, LPNs, NPs, RPNs and midwives under one organization. (PEI College of Nursing & Midwifery)
- Renewal period
- Annual renewal. PEI moved to a single nursing and midwifery regulator on April 1, 2026, combining the former RN/midwife and LPN colleges.
- RN requirement
- No fixed CE-hour requirement verified. RN continuing competence is required.
- RPN / LPN requirement
- No fixed CE-hour requirement verified. LPN continuing competence is required.
- Mandatory topics
- RN/LPN: No fixed mandatory CE course/hour requirement verified from the current PEICNM material. The CCP/continuing-competence requirements should be followed.
- Required courses
