What Ohio asks for
RN – 24 contact hours, including 1 hour on Category A APRN – 24 hours per APRN license every two years, in addition to the 24 hours required for RN license renewal. APRNs with prescriptive authority, at least 12 of the 24 hours must be in advanced pharmacology, 8 hours on treating and managing patients with opioid or substance use disorders, one-time only (8-hour federal MATE Act training), 2 hours on Ohio laws governing drugs and prescriptive authority.
