What California asks for
RN – 30 contact hours of CE every 2 years, including Implicit Bias course: 1 hour required at first renewal after initial licensure. LVN – 30 hours of CE every 2 years. APRN/NP – RN renewal requirement applies; 30 contact hours of CE every 2 years, including 3 hours Schedule II controlled substances course if furnishing authority. 6 hours in gerontology/dementia if care is provided to 25% of patients over the age of 65.
