- 20 of the CEUs must focus on East Asian medicine. The remaining 10 CEUs can be in Western medicine. License renewal effective April 1, 2026 requires a new one-time approved implicit bias and structural racism training; there is no CEU minimum or maximum.
- Required courses
- RN: 30 CEUs per 2-year renewal period. LPN: 30 CEUs per 2-year renewal period. CE must meet Maryland's accepted-provider/approval requirements. Qualifying college coursework may also be used under the regulations. (Maryland Department of Health) Source: Maryland Board of Nursing regulations.

- Maryland does require CE for renewal. Current Maryland regulations provide for 30 CEUs during the 2 years immediately preceding renewal, subject to permitted alternatives/qualifying coursework.
